Biography
My passion is combining clinical excellence with human connection to make a real difference in the lives of patients living with kidney disease.
Education
Dr. Prakash began his medical education in India, where he completed medical school before moving to the United States. He pursued a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he deepened his understanding of the critical role that nutrition plays in systemic and kidney health.
Training
Following his graduate studies, Dr. Prakash completed his Internal Medicine residency and served as a hospitalist and adjunct assistant professor at both the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He held leadership roles, including department chair and multiple hospital committee appointments. He later completed a fellowship in Nephrology at UAB, training under world-renowned nephrologists and gaining extensive experience in the management of complex kidney conditions. In 2021, Dr. Prakash relocated to Texas and launched NephronLife Kidney Care to offer unmatched, forward-thinking care to patients in the community.
